What Can We Do?…

Just a little of your time can make a difference,…here’s how:

The Prime Minister has pledged that if the online petition 100,000 signatures he will agree to have a Parliamentary debate in the House of Commons about the proposed High Speed Rail.  If this happens there will be more publicity, more MPs will start to think about it (and fear for their seats) plus there’ll be more general debate about the issue.  It is really important to spread the debate across the country because at the moment only the people directly affected are talking about it, in spite of the fact that the whole country is going to have to pay.  We need to bring it to the attention of the wider press and media and try to get the whole project stopped, rather than arguing amongst ourselves about the route.

So please sign this online petition and email it to everybody you can think of, wherever they live, and ask them to sign as well…..

Sign the online petition by clicking this link:http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/stop-hs2/sign.html

DO NOT ASSUME THAT HS2 WILL NOT HAPPEN – IT WILL…UNLESS ENOUGH OF US VOICE OUR OPINION. THE TRAIN IS COMING,..BUT WE CAN STOP IT BY ‘UNITING IN OPPOSITION ACROSS THE NATION’…STOP HS2!

The HS2 currently proposal has cross-party agreement although division is starting to be seen amongst MP’s who’s opinions CAN be changed by lobbying from constituents. Most of this can be done via the internet and THIS SITE:

Then, Spread the message far and wide – yes, to the people you know in your surrounding area but also to your friends wherever they are, Nationwide or Globally. They don’t have to be on the route to be affected – who do you think is going to pay for this ridiculous vanity project?

Don’t miss any opportunity to spread the word – carry a couple of the little poster/car stickers or signs, and leave them (with permission) in shops, pubs, restaurants etc.

If you’re on FaceBook, why not tell the world what is on your mind by suggesting they add their names to the one line petition – paste this link in and make it easy for them. http://www.gopetition.com/petitions/stop-hs2/sign.html

Another facebook suggestion – adding Michael Fabricant as a friend will allow you to get involved in some of the debates about HS2 that occasionally crop up on his “wall”
